Shoutbox
  • I wanted to make a universal talk box template, so I presented my Idea to Damërung, but he said that you would get the orange-message because you wouldn't be editing the talk page, but mine is set up in a way that you do. Do you think that a template would be a good idea for all shoutboxes? You can see the template here and the templates use can be seen tested and proven on my own talk page. David McArdle

[edit]

So can i create the page on David McArdle? Please reply!

johnpaul20082009(Johnpaul20082009 (talk) 14:52, 28 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Per Wikipedia guidlines, you are not supposed to create articles about people who are not notable or yourself. If you can cite verifiable, non-biased third party references to why David is a notable person, then it probably stands a better chance of lasting. You would be best off to see what Wikipedia is not.

PROD

[edit]

Don't forget to inform the article creator when placing PROD tags, as called for in the instructions. I see you did so in one case but not another.   Will Beback  talk  21:30, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption offer

[edit]

I would give you tasks, examples and even some scavenger hunts while learning about Wikipedia. Programmer13 (talk) 13:35, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I appreciate it, but I have acceped Damërung's offer. Ryanthewebguy (talk) 18:45, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Question

[edit]

Sorry for the late response. About your recent work, I find it fine, I think you´re doing things right, you have been focusing on warnings. Also, I will be more concentrated in my adoptees, now that I´m not so busy.
P.s. Do you want me to install a shoutbox for you? You can find one in my talk page, it´s a useful tool that helps in several things like avoiding overflooding in talk pages (so someone doesnt need to create archives too quickly), ease of cooperation, etc... (you can read the instructions). - Damërung ...ÏìíÏ..._Ξ_ . --  15:10, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate it if you would install that shoutbox, and if you would direct me to the instructions. I know that the community works to improve articles (and I should probably write my own...) but is concentrating on copyediting and newpage patrolling and the like just as fine. I'm just still trying to understand it all as I'm diving into the depths of WP. Thanks! Ryanthewebguy (talk) 18:04, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I have successfully installed your new shoutbox. I hope you make good use of it... Here´s your istructions booklet:

Tommi Uschanov

[edit]

I'm not losing anything if you like to delete the article. It's you - and the society. He's rising celeb here in Finland. It's just a matter of time when he does his breakthrough - when he becomes a legend. And when someone else notes to expand the article. I only began it. So i prompt to consider that once again before doing that mistake. Aaaatu (talk) 09:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aaaatu, I am sorry that you feel that way for your article being proposed for deletion. But part of the nomination is that you can contest it. If you want to, you can feel free to remove the prod tag from the article. At that point, if another editor feels that it merits deletion, it will go to the community in articles for deletion and the community will decide its fate. But honestly, my recommendation to you is that you would just establish notability or prove notability. Unfortunately, just having a book published does not show notability. Wikipedia requires verifiable third-party sources. To get an idea, check out these criteria for including a living person or an author in Wikipedia. I am definitely willing to help out, just let me know what I can do. Ryanthewebguy (talk) 14:47, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of places articles

[edit]

Take a look at the following lists that are very common on Wikipedia. They include list of all places within a city/town that are historical as well as prominent.

Maybe we could change it to List of tourist attractions in Faisalabad? What do you think? --Fast track (talk) 22:44, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it'll be fine. I didn't realize what else was around. Just realize that other editors may decide to put it up for deletion. My advice would be to get as many of those red filled in as soon as you can. I'm sure that WikiProject India would love to help! Happy Editing! Ryanthewebguy (talk) 00:46, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! I think you mean WikiProject Pakistan - Faisalabad is part of Pakistan. Not India. Thanks. :) --Fast track (talk) 00:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, don't I look like a moron. But... yeah. And I know that I'm not telling you anything you don't already know... I still feel pretty new at this and am working to truly get my hands dirty and get in to WP. Thanks for the correction. Lemme know if there is anything I can ever do to help out! Ryanthewebguy (talk) 00:54, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, it doesnt matter. It can happen to all of us. Its how we learn. Yeh there is alot to get yourself into. Since ur from the US. Im sure you have alot of info you could probably add to your local city/state. Get going with that! Im sure you will find lots to do. Happy Wiki-ing! Take Care. --Fast track (talk) 21:13, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There hasn't been much activity at WikiProject Missouri or any of its child projects lately, and I saw your name on the list of active participants. If you are willing to jump in again, please consider helping to revive the project:

If you know anyone who might be interested in Missouri (its history, culture, sports, people, places, architecture, etc.), please pass this message along to them! If you are still interested in the project but aren't currently active, please add yourself to the list of inactive participants at the bottom of this list. Thanks!

Mary Hilson

[edit]

Hello! Thanks for reviewing the Mary Hilson page. However, I'm not sure the unreferenced tag is entirely appropriate; I think that the "no inline citations" tag would be better. Do you agree? Thanks! NHCLS (talk) 22:27, 19 March 2:014 (UTC)

Agreed. Thank you for making the change! Ryanthewebguy (talk) 22:32, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
